Henningsen Lotus Park

Henningsen Lotus Park, located at 950 Lotus Road, Lotus, CA, is a 51 acre park on the South Fork of the American River, owned and operated by El Dorado County. The park was built on the site of the Henningsen rock quarry for the purpose of developing a community park along the South Fork of the American River.

The park provides a wide variety of active and passive recreation opportunities, as well as a boat launch, beach area, picnic areas, two soccer fields and a lighted softball/little league complex that provides year around youth sports.

Adjacent to the river is an enclosed Pavilion that can be rented to host a wide variety of activities, classes, weddings, social events and fundraisers. Some of the more popular events held at the park have been El Dorado Winery Association’s, Winderlust, American River Music Festival and Placerville Rotary’s Lobster on the River fundraiser. The rental fees vary depending upon the size and type of the event you want to hold.

The soccer fields and lighted softball/little league fields can also be rented for league activity or special event. This is a great way to host a family reunion or a group of friends to enjoy a friendly sports game.

A daily parking fee of $5.00 per car can be paid at the kiosk or the several iron rangers at the park. For those, that frequent the park, an annual pass – $18.00 per car – can be purchased for unlimited parking throughout the calendar year. All park rental and river use fees can be found on the County’s Parks, Trails & River Management website:
